To get the creative juices flowing I try to think of a phrase that I like, just made up or heard from a friend or people passing by; i.e beautiful disaster, subtle loveliness, etc. Sometimes it is just two random words coming together that forms a perfect, again unexpected match...kind of like that opposites attract theory. Then I imagine a colour or colours that match the mood; character of those two words, if I'm in a wild creative mood, I'll choose the colours which represent exactly the opposite of that phrase, sometimes with fun surprising results. A mood board also helps to organise and visualise your ideas. Like the sample above. ...so it is all in the words, colours and .... well, everyday life.
